Here are some of the puzzles I've made in the past. None is for sale, but they might give you an idea of the features you'd like in a puzzle of your own.
Note that the reddish brown wood surrounding each picture below is not part of the puzzle.
“Florentine Fete Beneath the Roses” - Maxfield Parrish
I made this puzzle for my sister, who is a horse enthusiast. It has lots of horse figurals, including a couple of composites. It has an irregular edge on the bottom, just to make it a little harder to assemble. In order to preserve the wonderful faces in the artwork, I took great care to put them in the center of the pieces rather than cutting through them.

“Jeune Fille Vert” - Tamara de Lempicka
This is the largest puzzle I've made, and a very striking image. I'm particularly proud of the figurals. I used silhouettes of women almost exclusively, including ballroom dancers, ballerinas and fashion silhouettes.
This image lent itself to a lot of color line cutting, particularly along the arms and body and hat.
If I were to do another puzzle using this print, I think I'd cut away some of the background to accentuate the lines of the image and give it an irregular border.

“Vendador de Flores” - Diego Rivera
I made this puzzle with a completely irregular edge by cutting the background away from the central figure and his basket of flowers. I also cut a drop-out in the small space behind the figure's bent knee. Both of these features increase the difficulty of assembling a puzzle.
Dimensions: 8.75 x 11.75

“Ivan Horse” - Edmund Dulac
This colorful print made a great puzzle. The image provided lots of oppportunity to use color line cutting. All of the major figures and structures are color-line cut, including the individual pieces of the tower. There are enough knobs along the color lines to hold the entire puzzle together firmly once it's assembled.
